Alternatives to traditional, brick-and-mortar
institutions of higher learning continue to multiply and present fresh, lower
cost college education opportunities for young adults who have identified their
plan and are disciplined to follow through.
Entities such as Udacity, CollegePlus, edX, Coursera,
Alison, and Pearson have partnered with dozens of major and top-tier
universities to offer free MOOCs (massive open online courses). Some MOOC providers even offer certificates
to prove to employers the student has successfully completed the coursework.
